There's something special about people who can take a half-formed idea and turn it into something real and impactful. Meghan Lenzmeier embodies this quality as the Senior Director of Client and Product Delivery at Workforce Edge. Her 20-year journey at our parent company, Strategic Education Inc., shows the value of education when combined with creative problem-solving to accelerate career growth.

At Workforce Edge, we practice what we preach by empowering our people to learn, grow, and pivot to create change. We’re featuring Meghan’s career journey, which shows what’s possible when education and opportunity align.

From enrollment services to leading client and product delivery

Meghan first joined the company in 2005, starting in enrollment services at Capella University, supporting undergraduate business learners. She grew into leadership, supervising enrollment teams, then academic advising teams. Eventually, she led advising for several schools within Capella.

While she loved the high-touch role of guiding learners through their academic experiences, Meghan wanted to be closer to the strategic side of the business’ offerings. She transitioned into product and portfolio strategy, launching new degree programs and specializations before becoming director of strategy for Strategic Education’s products team.

Her move to Workforce Edge in 2021 was the perfect next step.

“My move to Workforce Edge was really a great opportunity to utilize my previous experience in direct learner support and product strategy. Over the last four years at Workforce Edge, I’ve worn many hats – marketing, account management, product, operations – supporting our growth from early start-up to today. Currently, I lead a team that supports client and product delivery for Workforce Edge,” Meghan explains.

Learning as a career catalyst

Meghan knows firsthand the value of ongoing education. Early in her career at Strategic Education Inc., she earned her MBA from Capella University because it offered the flexibility she needed. Since then, she’s pursued nondegree training and courses to keep building skills.

“Formal education has provided me with a foot in the door and enabled opportunities. Ongoing learning and professional development have created pathways for growth, ongoing skill development, and opportunities to transition into new roles and career lanes. I think education is what you make of it. It's another opportunity to foster change and growth,” Meghan says.

A personal motto that drives career growth

Outside of her work at Workforce Edge, Meghan lives in a rural area of Wisconsin, raising ducks and chickens, experimenting with permaculture gardening, and preserving her harvest. She lives by the motto, “Make ideas happen.”

She thrives in the space between ideas and outcomes, valuing creativity, problem-solving, and the freedom to iterate on solutions until they’re optimized for a perfect product-market fit. This mindset applies whether she’s launching a new client program or building a chicken coop on her property.

“It’s a lot more work than one would expect, but I find it very rewarding to be part of the process from start to finish,” she says.

Thriving in a culture of agility

When asked what she loves most about working at Workforce Edge, Meghan didn’t hesitate:

“I love the ability of our teams to pivot quickly to the changing needs of the industry and the clients we support. I think we’ve built a culture that relishes the opportunity to continuously improve.”

This adaptability has been essential as Workforce Edge has scaled from startup to a key player in strategic talent mobility.
